1
The Idea
The journey begins with a concept or design idea. This could be anything from a prototype of a new product to a custom-made part for a specific application.

2

CAD
The idea is transformed into a digital model using CAD software. This step involves creating a precise, virtual 3D representation of the design, ensuring all dimensions and features are accurately defined.
3
Slicer
The CAD model is then imported into slicing software. The slicer converts the 3D model into a series of thin layers and generates the necessary instructions (G-code) for the 3D printer to follow. This step is crucial for determining the print settings, such as layer height, infill density, and print speed.

4

Printer
With the G-code ready, the 3D printer begins the actual printing process. Layer by layer, the printer builds the object from the bottom up, using materials like plastic, resin, or metal. This stage can vary in duration depending on the complexity and size of the design.
5
Post-processing
Once printing is complete, the object undergoes post-processing to enhance its appearance and functionality. This can include removing support structures, sanding, painting, or applying other finishing touches to achieve the desired look and feel.

6

Quality Check
The final step involves a thorough inspection to ensure the printed object meets all specified requirements and standards. This quality check may include visual inspections, dimensional measurements, and functional testing to verify the integrity and accuracy of the print.
